Drake Sells out Show in ATL in less than 5 hours

Within five hours of tickets going online, Young Money affiliate and former Degrassi High actor, Drake sells out his first show in Atlanta at The Loft on May 2nd.

Drake has created a deafening buzz for himself by just recently coming off tour with rap- turned-rock star Lil’ Wayne and a mixtape titled “So Far, So Gone” that has been all the talk of major magazines,online music mags and hip hop blogs. This will be his first time headlining a show in Atlanta.

Opening for Drake is the critically acclaimed Def Jux signee, Danny!. Just recently climbing his way into the top 10 slots on Billboard charts worldwide with his single “Just Friends”, Danny! is off of hiatus and back to performing. While dropping last year’s sonically-lauded “And I Love H.E.R., Danny! has found a cult following within the music community, all the while staying relevant in a mixtape/download happy climate.

Atlanta-based act Jaspects is a recent addition to the lineup. Jaspects’ newest effort, “The Polkadotted Stripe,” hits shelves with high praise from music lovers and critics, alike. “PDS” features some of Atlanta’s top rising talent including: Janelle Monae, PJ Morton, and Chantae Cann. Selections from Jaspects’ catalog have been featured in the award-winning film “Hustle and Flow” and CNN’s groundbreaking “Black in America” documentary. In January 2009, Jaspects was featured on the Millennium Stage at The Kennedy Center in Washington DC.

Coupled along with Drake’s heavy buzz, promotional efforts fueled by Shameless Plug (Jerald McBride, Fadia Kader, Bem Joiner, Jabari Graham) and ComeUpKids promotion helped to sell out the May2nd show. Within 24 hours of setting up an event invite on Facebook,and using a new found promotional tool in Twitter.com, the show received over 1900 RSVP’s, helping the show sell out once tickets were provided online .

Chrisl Brown's Attorney Wants the case Dismissed

Mark Geragos, the attorney representing Chris Brown in his felony assault case, told reporters outside of a Los Angeles courthouse on Wednesday morning (April 29) that he wants the case dismissed entirely, due to high-level leaks in the investigation.

"Leaks can form the basis for a motion to dismiss the case in regard to outrageous governmental misconduct," Geragos said, according to E! News.

The "leaks" the lawyer was referring to include the widely circulated police photo of Rihanna that showed the starlet badly bruised and suffering from a number of scratches, according to RadarOnline.com. The site also reported that Geragos will file a motion regarding the photo, as well as "several other incidents of leaks about the case." When the photo first appeared on TMZ in February, the Los Angeles Police Department announced it would conduct an investigation into the leak, but no findings in the matter have been announced as of press time.

Geragos appeared in court without Brown and, as expected, requested additional discovery time. The attorney claimed that evidence turned over by the LAPD still had not been presented to him, according to OK! magazine. Without much objection from prosecutors, the judge scheduled a new hearing for May 28.

The stipulated date could help speed up a possible plea-deal negation. Brown's attorney and the L.A. County District Attorney's office have reportedly been working on striking a deal.

The judge also ruled to release Rihanna's jewelry on Wednesday. The female singer's attorney had requested the borrowed items, reportedly worth up to $1.4 million, that she had been wearing on the night of the incident be returned from police custody. Police will take photos of the jewelry and use the images should the evidence be needed in court.

Las Vegas City of Lights Rhythm and Blues Festival

Well, this weekend guys I had the pleasure of being at this annual celebration of jazz here in Vegas. I really enjoyed myself at this year's festival. Unlike other jazz fest that I have attended they had different vendors with all types of Goodies to make you spend your $! I got a chance to pig out on some good ol fried catfish, bought a couple of purses and black art to hang up and best of all got a chance to hang out with some Black people.
Here in Vegas, their aren't alot of black people so to come out to this event and see us strong and proud and not acting an ASS, I was Impressed all the way!

Rihanna seeking return of Pricey Jewelry

The filing includes a general description of the items, saying they all are made of "yellow metal" and all but one includes "white stones." The value of the items is at least $1.4 million, the motion states. It argues that photographs of the items will satisfy the needs of attorneys and asks the court "to order the return of the property to (Rihanna) without further delay."A spokeswoman for the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office said the agency would not comment on the motion.
The jewelry was part of the ensemble that Rihanna, whose real name is Robyn Rihanna Fenty, was wearing when Brown allegedly beat her while driving home from a pre-Grammy party. Brown is accused of hitting, biting and choking his girlfriend as the couple drove through the upscale Hancock Park neighborhood.
The filing indicates the jewelry was loaned to the singer by four companies, which want the items back. The items are wanted for events overseas, the filing states.
Brown was arrested Feb. 8 and charged with felony assault and making criminal threats. He has pleaded not guilty to the charges and his case is due back in court on Wednesday, when a judge will consider the jewelry motion as well. Brown is not required to attend that hearing.
Etra has said that Rihanna would prefer prosecutors and Brown reach a plea agreement before a trial, but that the 21-year-old singer would testify if called.

Rumor Report: T.I and Tiny to Wed

Well according to MediaTakeOut they just reported that TI and his fianceé, Tameka “Tiny” Cottle are planning to have a secret wedding before Tip has to report to prison on May 19th, 2009. Sources close to the couple says:

“They’re having a small, intimate ceremony… it will be private and it will happen before TI [enters prison on May 19].”

As you all know, TI and Tiny have been going out for 10 years now, which says that she is really there for him and loves him dearly. I would be very happy if this rumor were true. Congrats to TI and Tiny, and we’ll search for more news on their upcoming nuptials!

Well, if you didn't get a chance to see the season finale part 1 with Making the Band, oh God is all I have to say. I posted a clip of the eposide, with a surprising ending to everything that has been happening with both groups.

Lil Rudy is on TV again

It is official that Keisha Knight Pulliam and her boyfriend Kaseem Penn will be starring in a new reality tv show about her life as a single, rich, young and living together. Her new reality tv series will air on the Oxgyen Network, probably sometime this Christmas season I am guessing.

Keshia has starred in such films as "Madea Goes to Jail", and we all know her as the lovable and cute Ruby on the "Cosby Show". Her boyfriend who lives in Atlanta also is an upcoming enterperur, investor, writer, and producer to name a few. Both Pulliam and Penn 30, are at a time in their lives where things are exploding for them and they see this a great opportunity.

Congrats to her!! Hey if you got it Flaunt it I say and she got some stuff going on to support the makings of a good reality series. Since I am a Reality TV Bluff, I will be watching this show to.

HOT Summer Bikini's

It's summertime again ya, and everybody is gonna start showing off their Sexy Bodies at all cost. I was on FashionISing.com and got a chance to check out some of the hot styles that we will be seeing this summer.


1. Marios Schwab married the one-shouldered bikini with the cutaway bikini trend on his Spring/Summer 2009 runway at London Fashion Week. This particular piece also uses Summer florals taking what a risqué bikini to a girl level. It's cut and under-strapping make this a particular good piece for smaller chested girls.
2. Victoria's Secret included a single-shouldered piece in their 2008 line-up. More notable for it's side-tie briefs, this attention grabbing feature makes it a good bikini for girls whose legs are stand out.
3. A one-shouldered monokini was naturually used on Hervé Léger by Max Azria's Spring/Summer 2009 catwalk but sadly with no-where near the same sex appeal as other pieces in the collection. Read cut-away swimwear below for more
4. Under his own name Max Azria also sent a single-shouldered monikini down the catwalk, again pairing it with the cut-away trend. This particular piece stands out for it's use of a buckle clasp to join the body fabric with the shoulder. As with piece 3, smaller breasted girls are probably to avoid these particular cuts as they their black fabric will need some filling out to look best.
5. While not truly a one-shoulder monokini, Gottex's piece from their Spring/Summer 2009 collection has the same visual effect. It's clever halter neck also allows for a more revealing but and better support.
6. Finally, if you still have access to 2008 pieces; Gucci debuted their sophisticated take on the one-shouldered monokini as a part of their Spring/Summer 2008 collection.

Happy Birthday Da BRAT!!

Rap artist Da Brat turned 35 in prison today. As most of you know, Da Brat, real name Shawntae Harris, is serving a 3-year sentence for aggravated assault after breaking a bottle over a waitress’s head at Jermaine Dupri’s Studio 72 in 2007.

Da Brat has been incarcerated at Arrendale State Prison since Sept. 2008. She looks good in her new mugshot on the prison’s website. Prison life is obviously treating her well. Da Brat is scheduled to be released from prison in August 2011. Happy birthday Brat!

The Cool Kids

The Cool Kids is a hip hop group from Chicago, Illinois and Detroit, Michigan. The duo consists of Antoine "Mikey Rocks" Reed (originally from Matteson, Illinois) and Evan "Chuck Inglish" Ingersoll (originally from Mount Clemens, Michigan).[1] The Cool Kids' music has been released primarily via their MySpace page, but have been signed to the independent Chocolate Industries via their own label C.A.K.E. Recordings. Reed and Ingersoll have collaborated with several other musical artists and made appearances in numerous media, such as Asher Roth, Kenna, and Maroon 5.

These are some cool guys right here, literally just like their name. With one of the members being from my hometown of Chi-Town, I am holding these bros down. I have been watching these guys slowly come up into main stream media, with little publicity to becoming opening acts at major concerts. Another great thing about The Cool Kids is their style. They have a new phase look about them, even if they wear skinny jeans that I hate on men. I definiefly know these are some fellas to watch out for in 09'.

This type of stuff can really scare you in the world that we live in. Everyday the HIV rate rises with blacks in the lead with the highest numbers. If your marrying someone you should know everything about them, granted there are gonna be some secrets in the dark, but this should have been spotted earlier in the relationship. At least she is trying to warn others and not beening Bitter.

I was watching TV One the other day and kept seeing the commericals for this TV series called "I Married a Baller", a Real Black Show.
I Married A Baller is an original TV One reality series about the marriages and careers of African-American athletes and their spouses.

The series will offer an up-close and personal glimpse into how these couples maneuver through the fast-paced worlds of fame, fortune and family.

The first season will feature former NFL Tennessee Titan and Heisman Trophy winner, Eddie George and his R&B vocalist wife, Tamara Johnson-George, better known as Taj of the multi-platinum group SWV-Sisters with Voices.

With the cameras rolling, viewers get an inside look at how the couple successfully manage their two careers, two kids and often two completely different points of view on what to do and how to do it.

The big fight is on Saturday night on HBO at 7pm PST, but for those of you special enough to get tickets at Mandalay Bay "Big Up's to ya". I am not a boxing fan so I wont't be watching this, but I'm rooting for Winky.

Gabby says no to Baby Rumors

Rumor has it that Gabrielle Union is supposely pregnant by NBA Superstar Dwanye Wade. This rumor has been flyin around Hollywood for a month now and it has finally it the all the media and bloggers like me are all writing a story about it. Gabby has been spotted out and about with DWade for months now.

In a report interview with Egpyt.com she said,"would I get knocked up AND why would a bunch of ball players sit around talking about whose got mothering skills…the rumor was stupid and made no sense and your the first person to bother to fact check so thanks girl. I’m not ready for babies at this time. It’ll be years before I am!”

So there it is she isn't pregnant plain and simple. Besides Gabby's got her career, her boo, and all her celeb parties in BLACK Hollywood, to think about giving up before she become a Mama.

What's up with Terrance J's Hair?

I don't know if I am the last one to notice this, but what's up with Terrence J of
106th & Park's hair? His hair is now in a mohawk, he looks like doing everything to bend in with the trends. Since he is a host of a popular show, I personally think he and Rosci should help set the trends, not help follow them.

I must apologize to my readers for not having a updated picture of Terrence. I searched and searched the internet to find a picture of him and couldn't find one. I guess he isn't that important or popular since there were only 15 websites that offered pictures of him.
